Why would you join The American School Counselor Association?

The professional association that I would like to join is the American School Counselor Association(ASCA). I chose this particular organization because they are dedicated, supportive and the leading advocates for the development of the school counseling profession.The ASCA supports school counselors with professional developments,publications and many other important resources.This professional association is also involved in the promotion of national and state legislation which can support, strengthen and expand the work of school counselors around the globe.The ASCA is well known for advocating for systemic change and supporting the efforts of school counselors. This way, school counselors could help students in many developmental aspects.With the support of the ASCA, school counselors can have the proper resources and they are capable of professionally guiding students to focus on their academics, future career goals, social development and emotional development.
