Telehealth has opened the opportunity for nurses the aid those in rural areas, as will as reaching out to patients in the community before they have need to go to emergency room for back care. This type of technology is know as telenursing (DeNisco, 2021). The biggest benefit of telehealth is that nurses can provide nursing services in health care and enhance care whenever a physical distance exists between patient and nurse or among any number of nurses (DeNisco, 2021). The use of telehealth can lead to certain legal, ethical, and regulatory issues of which nurses should be aware, such as interstate practice of tele nursing. In the united states telenursing requires attending nurses to be licensed to practice in all of the states in which they provide telehealth services by directly interacting with patients (DeNisco, 2021). The drawback from licensing and the growing need to reach patients in rural and distance restrictions possible federally sponsored physician Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) and Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) to facilitate portability of licensure across state lines. the push to reach more patients without adding more burden to our health care system, collaboration and coordination with physicians and other outside agencies will be used to improve care delivery through the use of telehealth and data sharing to keep our patients safe.
