After listening to Jill Bolte Taylor’s interview answer the following questions one by one, and in order.
- What do you [think you] know about your self? Are you bold, immaterial, big, what you eat, a specific weight/volume/density, smart, sassy, silly, of sound mind, contemplative, good at video games, creative, reliable, unreliable, just an illusion, …,etc.?
- Can we rewrite the narrative? Is the way that we describe ourselves to ourselves a powerful influence on our capacities? (i.e. Can we become more or less creative by defining ourselves as more or less creative?)
- If language is necessary for this left-brain consciousness that we are all working so hard to develop, then what happens when language goes away? Where does "I" go?
- What, if anything, does this tell us about the self?
